As Ryan pointed out, at least for me with Verizon service, most of the "move to SD card" options in the application manager are greyed out the app has to remain in internal storage. It turns out the largest memory hog is GAIA GPS mappingand the folks there are continuing to work with Android OS to see what can be changed so that the at least the maps and tracks generated and stored can be based in the SD card, even if the app and its associated operating files need to be in internal storage.
GAIA is an example of an app that has its own internal settings for storage, but many users myself included who choose SD card for the data find that the app ceases to work the developer knows this and warns about it, claiming its the OS that is the source of the problem.
